Youth Service America  is accepting applications for the 2018 Global Youth Service Day Lead Agency program. With the generous support of State Farm, the program offers organizations funding, recognition, and ongoing training to organize high-impact, high-visibility youth-led projects for Global Youth Service Day (April 20-22, 2018). As the official organizer of GYSD in their region, GYSD Lead Agencies build a coalition of K-12 schools, youth development organizations, and community-based organizations in their region to activate youth, ages 5-25, to acquire 21st Century Skills by solving community problems through service or service-learning projects.  Deadline: August 31, 2017

Public Welfare Foundation Accepting LOIs for Criminal, Social Justice Programs

The Public Welfare Foundation supports efforts to advance justice and opportunity for people in need and is accepting Letters of Intent for projects in its focus areas of criminal justice, youth justice, and workers’ rights. The foundation’s Juvenile Justice program supports groups working to end the criminalization and over-incarceration of youth in the United States. In particular, the program supports groups working to advance state policies that restrict the juvenile justice system’s use of incarceration and expand the use of community-based programs for youth; end the practice of trying, sentencing, and incarcerating youth in the adult criminal justice system; and promote the fair and equitable treatment of youth of color who come into contact with the juvenile justice system.  Letters of Intent are accepted on a rolling basis.

Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation Seeks Applications for HIV/AIDS Programs

The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation was established by Elizabeth Taylor in 1991 to provide grants to existing organizations for domestic and international programs that offer direct care services to people living with HIV and AIDS. Since its inception, the foundation has concentrated on supporting marginalized communities and has grown to also fund innovative HIV education and advocacy programs. Deadline: September 8, 2017

HUD Opens FY2017 Continuum of Care Competition

The FY 2017 Continuum of Care (CoC) Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) competition has opened. Links to the NOFA and well as other resources to support development of your community’s application are available on the HUD Exchange.  In addition, the National Alliance to End Homelessness has presented webinars to help communities  use this year’s CoC NOFA to drive long-term change to improve their systems. On August 3rd they will present a webinar that will focus on understanding the new Joint Transitional Housing (TH) and Permanent Housing-Rapid Rehousing (PH-RRH) component project and considerations communities should explore before applying for this opportunity.  Application Deadline: September 28, 2017
