Training / TA: Diversifying Your Funding Streams

Tuesday, August 10, 2010
10am-4pm

Many organizations that have relied exclusively on grant funding are now facing funding cuts and need to look at ways to increase their income. If you find yourself in this situation, this workshop will help you learn how to diversify your sources of funding in order to provide a steady stream of income from a variety of sources. In this interactive workshop we will talk about what you need to have in place before you can implement a full blown development program, where you can find funders and donors for your program, and how to best approach these potential funders. We will talk about the role of staff, board and volunteers in implementing your diversified fundraising program. Participants will leave with an outline for a development plan that includes goals they have set for their organization and strategies for attaining these goals.
Learning objectives:
• List the items needed before a development program can be started
• List the fundraising needs of the organization
• List sources of funds available to the organization
• Explain the role of staff, board and volunteers in fundraising
• Develop goals, objectives and strategies for a development plan
