CNCS SEEKS FEEDBACK ON DRAFT SOCIAL INNOVATION FUND NOFA
The Corporation for National and Community Services is seeking feedback on a draft Notice of Funding Availability for the Social Innovation Fund. The Social Innovation Fund, a new public-private collaboration created by the 2009 Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, is designed to create new knowledge about how to solve social challenges in the areas of economic opportunity, youth development and school support, and healthy futures, and to improve our nation’s problem-solving infrastructure in low-income communities.

FISCAL CONTROLS FOR THE SMALL NONPROFIT
Smaller nonprofits can have a difficult time implementing fiscal control procedures that may require multiple staff members. Segregation of duties, checks & balances can be difficult to implement in the organization that has few staff, or only a few active board members. HOMELESS YOUTH AND SEXUAL EXPLOITATION: RESEARCH AND IMPLICATIONS
This issue brief, from the National Alliance to End Homelessness, reviews research regarding the involvement of unaccompanied, homeless youth in various types of sexual exploitation including survival sex and recruitment into the commercial sex industry and will recommend a series of programmatic responses to meet their needs.

JEANS FOR TEENS
Teen retailer, Aeropostale is raising awareness about youth homelessness by encouraging teens across to bring their gently-used jeans to stores across the United States and Canada. The jeans will then be donated to local homeless youth shelters within their communities. Last year, over 200,000 pairs of jeans were collected and distributed.

UNDERSTANDING DONORS' MOTIVATIONS
The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University has released the report "Understanding Donor's Motivations" which examines the intrinsic and extrinsic motivations for charitable giving, and provides suggestions for how organizations can best utilize this newly aquired knowledge to get the most out of their campaigns.

SECOND CHANCE ACT ADULT AND JUVENILE OFFENDER REENTRY DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) invite applicants under their joint Second Chance Act Adult and Juvenile Offender Reentry Demonstration Projects solicitation. The Second Chance Act is intended to support the reentry of adult and juvenile offenders from prison, jail, or juvenile residential facilities into their communities. Application Deadline: March 4, 2010.

COMMUNITY-POLICE PARTNERSHIP AWARDS
